I am a newcomer to the Geluksroute scene, but I have long believed in the power of creativity and artistic expression.

For several years I worked with the LEGO company, where the imaginative play of children served as a model for how we should interact with our world. With a playful mind, a handful of bricks can be shaped into a boat, a giraffe, a city, or a creation beyond reality. Children process their world through play. They create stories and solve problems and figure out how to connect odd, disparate shapes together. They learn. They explore. And they create beautiful things. This process of play and creation is essential to the human spirit, and it is a process that can bring a boundless supply of joy.

Sometimes, as adults, we need to remind ourselves to play. We also need to process the world around us, and use our hands and creative muscles to transform our experience into something beautiful. Every song, dance, or story, (or boat, giraffe, or city), created with love and honesty is a brilliant new addition to the world. And that makes me happy.
